Central Service Committee

 

Central Service Committee will meet on the second Tuesday in December at 5:30 PM.

 

At their September 12th, 2006 meeting the Recovery / Unity / Service Committee voted to change their name to Central Service Committee to better reflect their role in the San Juan Island Alcoholics Anonymous community.

 

"I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A. A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible."

The San Juan Island AA Recovery/Unity/Service Committee came together in an effort to observe Tradition Five: "Each group has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers."

It is the sincere desire of the committee to adhere to the Twelve Traditions. With the guidance and direction of the groups it serves we respectfully submit the following:

Statement of Purpose - San Juan Island AA Recovery/Unity/Service (RUS) Committee:

1.    Maintain a community-wide meeting directory, updated regularly.

2.    Obtain a central phone number, which can be called to listen to a recorded message giving details of the meeting directory.

3.    Assist in the organization of AA fellowship activities.

4.    Provide a San Juan Island AA web site as a way to access the meeting directory, phone numbers, upcoming events, literature representative, and provide links to District 46 and other recovery related sites.

5.    Provide public information resources (example: Newcomer & Outreach packets) - pending Group approval

Quarterly meeting:  Second Tuesday 5:30 PM - All Welcome
